First three months of ownership

At the end of October 2025 we will have owned Skeldale House for 3 months. What a whirlwind! From unblocking toilets on a Saturday evening, to trying to gain access into the internet account to get it turned back on, to chatting to people on the doorstep who just had a passion for 'All Creatures Great and Small' it has been an incredible journey.
We met many of our guests, from many different countries and parts of the UK, and if we did meet, you will know what we are trying to achieve and how we will not rest until these goals are met. Greg was asked today why this project was important, and if his background was in hospitiality. Neither Greg or Lisa have any experience in hospitality but Skeldale House is so exciting that they decided to use both of their skillsets to add to the customer experience. Greg is trying to increase our direct bookings, and Lisa is adding her creativity to the already incredible property.
Some of our stories really make us realise just how powerful both 'The Yorkshire Dales' and 'All Creatures Great and Small' are. From the American that was invited into The Surgery as his partner took his photograph outside and informed us that he had studied all of the James Herriot books at University in Michigan, to the couple from The Netherlands that knew one of Greg's old civil engineering contacts from a large project in Zeebrugge!
Improvements have been made including 'proper' milk, better communications from Chelsea and her team, the most amazing biscuits made in Leyburn (non- UPF), to many plumbing improvements by Upper Wensleydale property services and just today (27th October) we have ordered a brand new automated heating control system. Loads of improvements and more to come.
